Tara Wohlberg received her early musical training in Saskatchewan and completed a Bachelor of Music degree at Manitoba's Brandon University. Upon returning to Canada, she established a private piano studio in Vancouver, where she continues to actively adjudicate and teach, while writing both critically and creatively. Her poetry and lyrics have been published by E.C. Schirmer and Oxford University Press. As a freelance music reviewer her work has been published in the Globe and Mail, Maclean's, Vancouver Sun, Clavier and NUVO magazine, and was regularly in Canada' classical music magazine- OPUS. She served on the Vancouver Registered Music Teachers' executive from 1994-1999. In 1996 she founded the non-competitive Collage Festival of Canadian Music for voice, strings and piano. Her eclectic piano studio welcomes keen students of all backgrounds- from eight-year-old beginners to octogenarians.
